John, t-that is Sherlock. We're not sure how it happened, but he is now a... dragon.

As far as we know, he still has his human memories.

He's been asking for you and I'm sure he'll be very excited that you're awake now.

W-would you like me to wake him up?

*is met with the cold blooded shoulder*

Aw, come on, Sherlock...

*walks around and puts hands on Smauglock's muzzle*

... don't be such a grumpy dragon. This can't be any worse than the time Simon trapped you in the airing cupboard or the time Caitlin secretly put barrettes your hair before the family photo. Or the time I accidentally gave you a split lip during the egg and spoon race, for that matter. How did that iguana end up on the course anyway?

*flicks ear to get rid of a buzzing fly, and tries to turn back on you*

*crap John's over that way*

*tries to turn back on him too, and flicks ear again to get rid of the fly*

*tries to turn back on both of you at once, and ends up doing a sulky rolling-around-in-the-sand dragon-dance*

*finally loses temper with the fly altogether and BELCHES a HUGE gout of flame up in the air, incinerating the fly (and indeed any other airborne organisms within several metres)*
